So my friends pc doesn’t have a gpu it’s like integrated intel graphics it’s an hp pavillion p7-1155 and so it’s got an old motherboard so my gt 730 wouldn’t work in it being that old. So he has a newer hard drive so I figured if I put my old gigabyte 78lmt usb3 motherboard in there with the fx4350 in it already and put his 8gb of ddr3 in there and plug in his hard drive and everything it’ll be fine like with operating system and files on it... so if I just switch out motherboard and cpu, will the storage be all good? I have seen different answers on this.

Yes, the storage should be good.

 

On the other hand, a GT730 should work in his 1155 board.

No it actually doesn’t lol we updated the bios and everything, and also I found like things on the actual website for the motherboard in it

If it has a PCI Express slot, it will work.

Legacy BIOS HP mobos don't like anything newr than 600 series, that's a fact. There were some 750ti unicorns that had a physical legacy BIOS switch, but a Mobo swap is the right answer.

Windows 10 will be fine just swapping over. I don't know about older versions though.
