Memory compatibility issues AM3+

Hi

 

Im doing an interim upgrade to my pc before shelling out for a brand new build.

I have a couple of 16gb sticks of HP Dual rank x4 PC3-14900R 1 DDR3 1866 ECC. My motherboard seeems to support ECC memory at that clock speed (ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 ) and i think my CPU does (AMD FX-8350)

Ive installed the sticks and the pc wont post. Is the ram i have compatible with my motherboard? I dont know enough about the detail behind memory compatibility to know.
