VPN IP

My VPN tool has a browser extension. I need to know if it only routes my browser traffic through the VPN location or my whole outgoing traffic from programs and so on too. How can I test it?

It is important because I need to be in my country when running a program.

Edit:

solved! It only routes my browser traffic through the VPN as I expected. I just needed to be sure ;)

Compare tracerout ip with what the internet says your ip is.
