Specify what your budget is. What is cheap to me, may not be cheap to you, and visa versa. Having said that, the cooler master line up - Quickfire pro, rapid or trigger are probably your safest bets so i would go with one of those. Any preferences for shop / etailer?

If he doesn't want/need a full sized keyboard go ahead and grab a QuickFire Rapid, to my knowledge it is the cheapest keyboard that is on the market. Also I'm currently typing on a QFR and it's an extremely lovely keyboard let alone the price that doesn't break your wallet. I got mine for $65 on Amazon so just look around for sales.

Cherry themselves make the cheapest mechanical keyboard out there. It's called the G80 or something
