Virtualbox - Crackly Audio on all VMs/OSes

Hey guys, I need help.

I have (mainly Windows) OSes in Virtualbox and they have horrific, crackly audio.

I am using the DirectSound and ICH AC97/Intel HD Audio on all of them with Guest Additions installed, and the audio is still awful

Any Ideas?
