this is a good idea.

even when humble bundle isnt doing free games, the deals are always really good.  you can get a handful of games for as cheap as a penny.

 

and what kind of games do you like?  there are a lot of really good f2p mmos worth looking into:

Planetside 2

Warframe

Tera

Neverwinter

Rift

Archage

 

And other games as well:

Dota2

League of legends

Smite

Paladins

Path of Exile

Blacklight retribution

Fortnite

If you want an indie game, Spelunky is one of my favorites. It'll run on anything more powerful than an Intel Atom single core CPU.

I play a lot of Star Trek Online. Obviously it is more of a draw for Trekkies but it has a great F2P system and everything in the game is unlockable without spending any money although it does take a while.

Free-to-Play is not quite 'Free'.
I don't really get multi-player games, so i'll talk about Single-player games that i got for free over the last year or two.

Follow the big stores on Twitter, maybe a few gaming sites and from time to time you will get updates on games that are free for a limited time.
