Windows 10 clean install issues.

Hello everyone, i need some clarification about doing a clean install of windows 10 from a usb flash drive using the windows 10 installation media tool on the windows website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10)

 

My questions and issues are the following.

 

1-How do i format my usb drive? NTFS, FAT32 or exfat? and what allocation unit size? does it change anything at all?

 

2-The media creation tool crashes for some reason, with some error codes i'll post here after my next attempt.

 

3-After a previous clean install, whenever i start my computer, the loading screen at the start displays the windows logo in blue instead of the usual asus one (at startup above the loading dots). Also, the first thing displayed after i press the power button is a small white bar on the top left that flashes (blinking cursor), it would'nt do that before. what is the cause of this? is it related to bios?

ohh and that too, how can i read a dumpfile? anyone here can tell me how? or read it and tell me what it says?

or like, tell me how those work at all? because i would really like to find out what an issue plaguing me is.

1. Use FAT32 and leave rest default.

2. Hard to say. If you have ISO, you can use alternative tools like Rufus.

3. Do you have laptop or another prebuild? Those come with custom install and should be reinstalled using recovery partition or other tools supplied by manufacturer. You can use retail ISO, but you loose any such customization. You can add startup logos later, if it's important thing. The flashing cursor might be sign of mobo searching for boot devices. You can change OS drive as 1st to get that away.

 

Windows has built-in tool to open dump files. You can use text editor like notepad or download 3rd party software (I don't remember what it's called right now ).
