Isn't GTA V pretty CPU bound? What is "bad FPS" in your case and what CPU does your friend have?

This is not really a great combo for 1080p gaming if very high FPS is what you're after. That said, what FPS are you getting? If you're running 4x or 8x AA and all Advanced sliders to max, not even a 1070 will get you 100fps.

he's probably not using the same settings...GTA 5 has this advanced settings tabs....those will DESTROY youre framerate and they don't change much visually...so turn them off...also, grass quality should be set to high or lower...

Also, if you check your FPS when you,re in the montains where there are a lot of vegetation they will be much lower...FPS in GTA 5 vary a lot based on the location and what's going on on your screen...and there are so many settings...you can't compare to your friend just like that.

2400MHz I believe

pretty sure it's more like your friend is flatout lying/deceptive...70FPS 1080p ultra with a 1050ti is previously unheard of...maybe looking at the sky or at the ground or something?

what type of anti-aliasing is used etc...there are so many factors...
