Can't install/uninstall nvidia drivers

Go to solution Solved by Flamewalker,

Hello,

as the title says I can't install or uninstall my graphics card driver. Neither can I use Geforce Experience anymore. When I try to uninstall the drivers i always get the error message below (it's in german). The problem started a day ago.

I'm running an i5 2500k and a GTX 660 on Windows 7 64 bit.

Does anyone know what to do?

You can also try using DDU http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=379506 to get rid of the drivers (Basicly the same as driver sweeper but newer and constantly updated) :P

boot into your Windows Disk, hit repair, Advanced Options, Command Prompt

OR

In windows, open CMD as an Administrator

And do a system file check (type in sfc /SCANNOW)

Hope I could help!

I did a system file check in windows but it didn't find anything. Should I try using the windows disk anyway?

Alright. Anyway thank you for the fast response.  :)

I'm going to reinstall Windows then.

I hope I'm not too late here. You might want to try manual uninstall first. Delete drivers from Device manager, delete all files from folders and app data. Download lates windows updates for display driver (I know it sounds stupid) and try to reinstall latest drivers after that. If still nothing, try to do repair installation or system restore first before doing complete reinstall for windows.

I hope it works. Reboot after uninstall/delete is also thing that I forgot mentioning. And if you have CCleaner, registery fix is good thing to be certain.

Well, I did a repair install of WIndows first and used DDU afterwards. After a few reboots and reinstall of the drivers it's finally working correctly. Thanks for your help.  ;)
