Galaxy S8+ (Samsung Experience 9.0/Android Oreo) causes Windows 10 to BSOD

handymanshandle

So on both my laptop and desktop, whenever I try to USB tether with my S8+.

It's running the latest build of Android for Verizon S8+s, that is to say Samsung Experience 9.0 (Android Oreo) (Security Patch Level February 1, 2018)

When I move the sim card into my old Galaxy S6, running 7.0 (Security Patch Level July 1, 2017) it works fine. That's how I'm writing this post right now.

I'm fairly sure both the laptop and desktop are running close enough builds of Windows (laptop is WinX home but build information shouldn't be any different)

I guess it would help to add what kind of BSOD I get.

I think I saw some kind of Kernel stop first, but now they've all been Kernel Security Check
