Hi!

I am planning to re-think and upgrade my monitor setup. Currently, I am using Asus vx239 and Asus vn247 next to each other. Since space on my desk is limited and I have two big speakers on each side of one of the monitors, I was thinking about getting a vertical mount and have them above each other. I use my PC mainly for music production so gaming performance is not really important (more of a casual gamer...).

I am running a GTX 1060 and am thinking of upgrading to something like 2x LG 25UM58.
What are your opinions on such setup? Or would you rather recommend something else? As a student, I need to keep the costs down, unfortunately.

Thank you!

So you have 2 1080p displays ,and you're going to move to 2 new 1080p displays?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I agree with @Streetguru, it only looks like you are getting slightly larger monitors with the same IPS tech at the same 1080p resolution... It's not really an upgrade if you are looking for more work space, you need a higher resolution.

Currently, I have 2 problems, I can't mount the current displays the way I want as they don't have vesa mounts.

The second problem is, that since they are two different displays, they look different and it just bugs me. So I thought I might just sell these and do it properly.

I'd suggest you just buy a 4k display instead of getting new 1080p displays. You can just run games at 1080p still, some will run at 4k though

If it is in your budget, I would suggest at least upgrading to 1440p for more work space (also it won't be as hard on your PC as 4k if you do game). Saving the money to upgrade the resolution may be more worth while in the long run then keeping the same 1080p. It just seems that your not getting as much value out of your money as you can getting 1080p. That's just my opinion.

Seems reasonable. Would you recommend a particular monitor or a brand?

Thank you!

Personally, I don't have specific recommendation. You can use something like Amazon to narrow down pricing while keeping making sure the monitor is still reviewed highly. You can always cross reference with another vender reviews like Newegg and do additional research on the specific monitor once you narrowed it down.
