Just get an EVO.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only a GTX 1080, just a single 1080, where my glorious PC once stood....

For that is all I need, For the Emperor of Man, Jen-Hsun Huang, protects. We march for Nvidia, and we shall know no fear!

The Evo drive doesnt use as good nand flash but is helped by special firmware to make it fast (correct me if im wrong)
The Pro uses a higher performance flash so is a little more expensive but doesnt rely on the special firmware on the drive.

The pro is about 10% faster in most cases.

Edit: here are some benchmarks http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-840-Pro-256GB-vs-Samsung-840-Evo-250GB/1408vs1594

840 Pro: Top-performing MLC Nand SSD. The fastest.

840 Evo: Refined 840 with special firmware and a faster controller to make it faster

840: Highly binned TLC flash. It will be slower in terms of writes, but for most cases it is fine.

Different pricing and noticeably almost the same performance.

For normal usage, there's no point not to get the cheapest one. For some more heavy usage such as a fast scratchdisk for media editing, you'd want the Evo.

Only reason for the Pro is for the warranty.
