RAM Compatibility (Quad/Dual channel)

Go to solution Solved by SquintyG33Rs,

it will work. having all dimms full affect overclocking capabilities but nothing will prevent the memory from simply working. 4133 is not guarantied to work though no matter the configuration, it will highly depend on your CPU's memory controller's "silicon lottery" plus that kind of speed doesn't actually net you any real world performance benefit....... you're better off not spending extra money on such a kit and buying the same one at around 3200MHz at the best timing you can find (theoretically the best achievable is around CAS10)

Hello,

question about RAM compatibility, looking on the QVL list from ASUS:

MB_QVL

I could install a 16GB or 32GB 4133 MHz kit. there is info that some modules will work on 2 DIMM configuration (e.g. F4-4133C17D-16GTZR), so the question is: if I buy two exactly same kits 2x8 GB (lets say one now and one later), which are compatible to work in 2 DIMM configuration, will they work in XMP on all slots (so 2x 2x8), or only 4x8 (32GB) kits will work in 4 DIMMs?

I wanna go maximum performance possible, so i bet maximum compatibility will be required...

Thanks
