Hey, this is my first post and I need some advice for an upgrade that I plan to do. My computer right now is quite old and I wish to

upgrade so I can play new modern games without the issues of lag and such. My plan was to buy a Corsair Hydro Series h60 so I can overclock my

Cpu to @4.0 Ghz, then upgrade my Psu to a Corsair HX 750. Then instead of my current Gpu (Gigabyte gtx 550ti) I was going to get an

Evga gtx 760 Superclocked 2gb, now my only worry is that even if I overlcock my Cpu to @4.0 Ghz will my computer be bottlenecked?

I was wanting to upgrade instead of buying a whole new system, and I was going to get my parts here: http://www.cplonline.com.au/ Since I'm from Australia.

My Computer currently:

Cpu: Intel i5 750 @2.67 Ghz

Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-p55-ud3r

Chassis: Cooler Master

Memory: Kingston Hyperx 2x4gb Ddr3 (8gb)

Gpu: Gigabyte gtx 550ti 1gb

Hdd: WD Green 760gb

Psu: 460W

Cpu Cooler: Intel Stock Cooler

Os: Windows 7

Thank you for taking your time here, I appreciate it so much!

That green writing is horrible, just use black in future,

You shouldn't get a bottle neck with the cpu at stock speeds if you are going to go a 760, also you wont achieve 4ghz on a H60,

I would get a 7950 if you can find one and through in a SSD.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

Way to jump on my throat.

A game being made in recent years does not necessarily make it "modern". It makes it "new". If I were to make a game with a 10 year old engine, it would not be a modern game.

Haha I won't use green next time! Oh ok, I saw some videos of people using an i5 750 and overclocking it to @4.0 Ghz

but Linus did a tutorial a few years back but only did it up to @3.7 Ghz. And thanks for the suggestion!

first psu and gpu then yeah get a cooler and oc but go air,h60 is bad for the money.

Yeah I was planning to buy all at once though, but how is the h60 bad for the money?

I've seen a lot of good builds using a h60 and seeing no issues, and thanks for the help!

I was thinking about that, but should I just use it for my Operating System?

os, drivers, constantly used programs, etc.

If you have the money get stuff in this order:

1. PSU and GPU (7950 if you can find one)

2. SSD

3. Look at a cooler if you feel you need OC, don't get anything under a H80

Something like the 212 Evo is much cheaper and almost just as good while being quieter.

There's no point getting such a large psu. A decent 500w is plenty as is. Even if you sli, a 650w would do.

What's your budget?
