I'm planning on upgrading by build in the next month. I was going to get a B350 board with Ryzen 5 1600, but I know that Ryzen second gen is about to launch. I'm fairly new to the tech world so I need your advice!

Am I better with the R5 1600 at discount price or should I wait for the R5 2600?

Btw it's my first post in here, I'm a french Canadian so sorry if my english is not on point!

if budget allows, why not?

But if the discount is more than $50, it's a good deal.

You will get a performance jump for its better clock speed, other than that, 1600 still awesome.

What is your budget/country, what are you using the PC for?

And do you already have a GPU? If no GPU just grab a Ryzen APU system.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I currently use an FX 8320 with a GTX 1060 3g. I am a bit flexible with my budget and I'm from Montréal, QC, Canada.

I want to use my pc mainly for gaming but I want to try some video editing and streaming.

If I go with the 2600, will the B350 board be good enough? (I'm planning to buy Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming)

You might as well save up for the 8 core then, the ASrock Pro 4 is usually the best value B350 motherboard if it's $75 or less.
