Hello,

I am experiencing a weird problem with my PC and I think its because of my GPU.

While I'm gaming, sometimes both of my screens turn black and my monitor says it doesn't have input, a couple seconds later both of the screens turn back on and I can continue gaming (expect PUBG does crash, other games do not crash).

Also, sometimes when I turn on my PC, the displays don't get an input and after like 10 seconds my PC reboots and everything works again like normal.

Is my GPU dying or does this have another reason?

Thanks in advanced,

w1cked

id start with running Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU) and doing a fresh install of the latest drivers for the card, tends to help with a lot of issues

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

It is still happening. Do you have any other solutions?

check all the cables in the system and reseat the GPU?

I'm having a similar issue after switching to my new build, and it looks like we both have a Gigabyte MB and an EVGA 9 series. One thing that I'm going to do is reseat my GPU and make sure my power cables are properly seated. I read somewhere through brief Googling is that it could be a power issue to the card so it turns itself off under heavy load to prevent damage. I've briefly checked my event viewer and didn't see anything noteworthy. Thermals also seemed within reason when it crashes.

Fun fact: I can still RDP into the machine after the issue occurs so it seems isolated to Display Drivers. I think the GPU was still in device manager, but I can't say for certain.

I'll let you know if I find a resolution in a few weeks when I'm back from traveling.

MB: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming  Wifi

CPU: Intel i7-8700k

GPU: EVGA 970

PSU: Corsair CX750M

OS: Win 10 EDU 64 bit

My board is a MSI ;)

Both of my screens do turn back on after a couple of seconds like nothing has happend though, so I think my problem does differ a bit from yours. But maybe your solution will help fix my problem aswell so feel free to give it once your find it.

Then I'd say the PSU is to blame, because from what I can find it's garbage, and also pretty old now

Reading is hard :)

I still haven't made it home yet, but i'm leaning towards it being related to my not so amazing wiring skills. I'm thinking something came slightly loose when I decided to throw cable management out the door on the backside of my case and "made the back panel close."
