Get at least 8GB of ram, google chrome will eat up 4GB with just a few tabs.

I would get a more powerful power supply than you think you need. I had a 750W for my build but it blew up after about 5 months. Maybe go for a 650W instead

Get B350 mobo instead, it allows overclocking. Avoid MSI ones due to inefficient VRMs.

Full name of PSU?

Dont add 4GB, add 8GB for further upgrade.

new Nvidia cards are coming this summer, so dont set your sights on the 1050.

Name of PSU and your system specs? A system like OP's wont draw more than 300w of power. Your PSU blowing up isnt always because of wattage.

Higher wattage doesn't mean better. His planned build nor his desired upgrades call for anything higher than 500W, so long as it's a good one.

that is the full name of the psu, I added this up and it should only use around 300w... I don't really need a higher power supply.

The one thing you dont wanna cheap out on is the power supply. The best thing to do right now is wait until your next pay check, or buy higher end stuff and get a little bit at a time.

a ryzen 2200G with a fast 2800-3200mhz kit will likely perform on par if not better than the 550ti, get the APU and sell off the 550ti for some extra cash or something. i'd get a corsair CX or coolermaster masterwatt instead of that psu.

Imho, Buying a R3 1200 right now is wasting money when, for just 6$ more you can get the R3 2200G which not only performs better, but also has a built-in GPU that beats your 550Ti (although not by much).

Also, if you're buying a Ryzen system no matter which specific chip you're picking, do NOT buy a single RAM stick; Ryzen really likes fast RAM, so 2x4GB is definitely much preferred over 1x8GB. Also, try to buy RAM that runs at 3000 or 3200 Mhz.

if i upgrade to a 2200g, and if I keep the 550ti will it mess up my system?

nope, but kind of pointless keeping the 550ti around when the 2200G's iGPU would perform better anyways.

so its pretty much a better upgrade but tbh who is going to buy a 550ti thats 6 years old?

People who are looking for just one last component at a good price to put together another older system. For example, my spare R9 390 is overkill for the system I could piece together right now from parts laying around. I've even got all peripherals, monitor etc to go with it.

Hey!

I do not think that you can squeeze much more from this budget. Take a look at this build with better psu, b350 mb chip (capable of oc). You will be able to play some games at 1080p 60hz it will perform similarly to your 550ti as mentioned above, if you manage to sell the 550ti and stretch your budget a little bit more go for 2400g. Ryzen loves fast ram so that is why 3000 mhz especially ryzen apus. Go for 2x4 GB as it gives you a little bit more performance compared to single channel.

there's always gonna be that one guy who needs a cheap display adaptor, something to fill up his GPU collection or whatever. see what they're going for in your aera and sell it at around that price.
