Power Supply Help

I am building a PC and I plan on having an i7 7700k and a GTX 1060 6GB in it. I planned on taking the power supply from my previous computer and it's 500W should I upgrade or will I be fine?

Depends on the model.

It isn't a specific brand as I had purchased the computer pre-built it just says the name of the company that pre-built the PC made the PSU.

I believe the Focus Plus Gold 550 is still on sale, but I'll have to check.

Is it top secret or something?  Ashamed to say the name?  Say the name three times and your PC disappears???

 

If it's that bad, throw it away and get a new one.

 

Maybe take a picture of the spec label so we at least know what we're dealing with.

 

There's 250W PSU's out there labeled as 500W.  How are we supposed to know what you have if you don't tell us????

No brand.  But a model number.  It at least has a spec label on it.  No pics?

 

For example:  iBuyPower/CyberPowerPC uses some generic ATNG and Sirfa power supplies that are actually quite decent.  Digital Storm and Komplett use some Corsair PSUs branded as "Digital Storm" and "Komplett".  

 

We might be telling you to replace something that's perfectly fine.
