I love to jailbreak my apple devices, it's totally worth it. There are many tweaks that make your user experience better, HOWEVER jailbreaking DOES make your device slower.

 

Zeppelin and cylinder are some of my favourites and there are a lot of videos that show some cool tweaks you should download. You should check out Everythingapplepro's youtube channel for some cool tweaks.

Even with a jailbroken iOS device it's still crappy compared to even a stock android device. My suggestion would be to get a nice budget android phone and root it (root is PERFECTLY legal on android due to its open source nature).
