Question about Ram compatibility

Making my first pc and have the Intel Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor and MSI B250 PC MATE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard. I checked the specs on these and both say its takes ram DDR4-2133 / 2400 and I dont know if they take higher speeds. But my brother has some Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4 3000 Memory I can use. My questions are can save myself $100 and use the 3000mhz sticks even though the cpu and motherboard say DDR4-2133 / 2400? Will it work but at a slower speed? if so do I need to do anything extra to make it compatible?
