Hi, I've been experiencing a lot of RAM usage on my computer. I have two 4gb of ram, I know it is really not enough for 2018, but the prices are pretty high right now and I am waiting for them to drop. My question is - Is there a way to lower my RAM usage? Here is a screenshot

I don't see a problem there, you're using less than half according to the total. 8GB is still very capable unless you have highly demanding scenarios, which isn't shown here.

Gaming system: R7 7800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, Corsair Vengeance 2x 32GB 6000C30, MSI Ventus 3x OC RTX 5070 Ti, MSI MPG A850G, Fractal Design North, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, Alienware AW3225QF (32" 240 Hz OLED)
Productivity system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, 64GB ram (mixed), RTX 4070 FE, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, iiyama ProLite XU2793QSU-B6 (27" 1440p 100 Hz)
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

I had the same issue, simple fix is to buy a 16gb kit. Or you could go through the trouble of closing programs in the background and closing all other programs when you want to run games.

But then I have to buy a new motherboard for DDR4 RAM. :)

Why?

And then a new processor because of the socket

Depending where you live, look into 2nd hand shops such as CEX in the UK and US and see if they are selling any kits. I managed to get a 16GB kit for ~£50. But then it equalled ~£25 since I sold the 8GB kit I had.

Thanks, but I think I am just going to save some money on a new gaming pc. Mine is pretty old, about 3 or 4 years, but it was pretty powerfull back then.

Look at this

Ok, if I'm seeing correctly you'er running a game and all the other stuff at the same time. That's understandable you're running out. In task manager, you can sort by ram usage instead of CPU usage to see the worst offenders, and see if there is anything unnecessary you can close to help. Being realistic, just shutting down some Chrome tabs can help a lot. Maybe using another browser with lower ram footprint could help a bit too. Otherwise start saving for more ram.

Ok, thanks. Before 1 year or so, I was doing this too and it had no problems running them all together.

8gb ddr3 from what i could gather... you can easily find another 16gb on used sites... if you have 4 dimm slots.. you can populate the other 2 slots with 2x8gb to have a total of 24gb .. my friend just bought 2 x8 gb for 30 Euro 2nd hand... the one who searches shall find ;)
