PC will only post if power switch on psu is turned off and on or reset switch is pressed

My PC wouldn't boot or wake from sleep unless I pressed the reset switch or turned off and on the PSU switch then hit the reset button. I was thinking a bad PSU or MOBO. I did recently upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16 gb and it didn't give any problems. But I did notice the cpu fan speed slow down dramatically as soon as the PC is turned on. It will be normal after I removed one ram stick. Also I did test for faulty ram.

That PSU is a very terrible PSU...

I'd change it even if it isn't broken.

Do you already have it?

If not, you probably don't need 750W.

Many SLI setups don't even need 750W, they will run on 650W.

 

Your system could run on 250W...

If you don't have it or don't plan to upgrade to a 1080 Ti/SLI soon, go for this:

That will run off 450W

 

EDIT: plus i3 -> i7 is not a worth upgrade
