That’d be the VooDoo 5 5500 Then.

I was thinking it would be the 5 5500.   But things got fuzzy toward the end and depending on which website you read the last few months of 3DFX's existence has conflicting information.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Honestly it depends on which games you plan on running.

if you’re aiming for the latter years, then a voodoo 5 5500 is your best bet; the ones I saw on eBay are going for as much as a 1070ti/1080. If you want better earlier compatibility, then maybe a 2 or a 3.

AMD Ryzen 3950x under a Noctua D15S, 32 Gb G Skill FlareX 3200 DDR4 running at 3200 CL14, Gigabyte Aorus Pro 570 Wifi, Gigabyte 2070 Super hooked to a Dell U2718Q 4k HDR monitor & an Acer 1440p 144hz IPS panel of some kind, an Inland 1 TB M.2 PCIE 4 main drive, a Samsung NVME M.2 250Gb, WD Blue 500Gb  and 1 TB SSDs, Corsair RMX750, Rainbows and butterflies...

It was well into production when 3DFX folded.  You can find early production cards occasionally on the open market, some ES cards can be found as well.

Voodoo 3 3500 is the best and most compatible AFAIK.

I have a Voodoo 4 4500 PCI floating around my parts bins somewhere.

I found the Voodoo 4 4500, cleaned the contacts a bit with toothpaste, and installed it in my E3-1280 system.  It still works!  It does, however, need a heatsink that fits or I need some thermal glue to glue a heatsink to it.

It uses the same chip as the Voodoo 5 5500/6000 but its only a single chip.

Posting with it as my graphics card right now. xD

Thanks guys but because of the price and lack their existance I won't buy one. I've decided to buy a 20$ x1950xtx as it is ati's last gpu before amd bought them and it is cheap and powerfull enough to run my favorite old games. Cheers for everyone!

But can it run GLide? That would’ve been the only reason to grab a 3dfx card. If you’re into directX retro gaming then yeah the ATI card is better
