well nothing unusual..... you're using a 1920x and a gpu. it's not going to cause a huge explosion or anything.

 

basically in any given configuration if you can plug it in you're very very likely it will work

You will get bad performance because threadripper sucks for gaming.

That is really the only use case for those parts.  And if you are happy at ~90 FPS you can always go grab a bit older CPU (older Xeons really shine here) or an i5/R5 for considerably less money.

 

i5-8600k is probably the best deal for a pure gaming setup with new parts, everything else is in a blob just under that, and i7-8700k is the top end for gaming.
