Hey guys, looking for some input on what to upgrade next. I built my PC quite a few years ago, when the FX8350 was in its "prime". I've since upgraded my video cards, but nothing since then (was a couple years ago).

I use my PC for gaming (several modern AAA games, and some other lighter games like League/RS/etc.), and then just general use. I do not video edit or live stream or any of that. I like multi tasking, I currently have 3 monitors set up and use them all constantly. (Game/Video/media/webpages/another game). Primary monitor is a 144Hz 1080p MSI something, and most of the AAA games I play I don't reach at least 144 fps, and I would like to. Even games like League I only reach somewhere in the 60-80 FPS range (Without SLI, but I dont think SLI helps League).

Here are my current specs:

FX-8350 & some asus 990FX mobo that allows SLI

GTX 970 (x2), sometimes in SLI if it actually helps the game

Ripjaws 16gb (2x8) 1600 ddr3

HX850 PSU

840 Evo SSD

Some WD drive

Budget $1-2000

Let me know what you guys think, any input is appreciated as I've kinda fallen off the keeping up to date with computer parts train.

Thanks!

For that price, you can build a kickass Ryzen system, either with something like a Ryzen 1600 or above, which are quite heavily discounted at the moment, or if you can wait a few weeks, the new Ryzen CPU's that are coming out. Just don't buy a GPU just yet as prices are starting to come down for them. If you need to right now though, you can pick up a new 1060 6Gb for $300 in the US.
