Graphic card's detection went kaput

I took apart my PC in order to replace the stock Intel cooler. After finishing the work and putting everything back together, my graphic card (Asus 7950) is not detected by PC anymore. Checked BIOS settings, primary video source is the PCI Express slot, but no video when connected to the HDMI output. I still get video when I connect my monitor to the motherboard's HDMI port (motherboard is ASRock Z77m).. Is it possible that I damaged my motherboard during the process of replacing the cooler? Fans are still spinning.

P.S. While writing this topic video signal was lost once (when connected to motherboard's HMDI)

You either damaged the motherboard or the GPU. Test both in another system if you can.

reseat the GPU,

 

check all your power connections esp the GPU

 

it may have came loose when you were taking apart

Yesterday I did try reseating the GPU couple of times, reconnecting PCI power connections as well to no avail. Will try to reconnect other power connections, but if no power was delivered to the card, fans would not spin, would they?

One more thing I want to try (when I have time) is to connect the graphic card to the bottom slot, but to do that, I will have to take the motherboard out of the case, since the 7950 is bit too big to do that while in case.

And I said that I am hoping that it is motherboard that went kaput... Scratch that.

Well, here is the update.

Got a working graphic card to test the problem, turns out that the top PCI 16 slot is faulty. It seems like I will have to replace the motherboard.
