What is the best VPN for a small Buisness

Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on the best VPN service for small businesses. I need to get one set up today for my business today and it seems there are many VPN providers out there. Just wanted to see if anyone could list off the best ones for me. I know LTT always promotes Tunnelbear so if everyone says its actually the best that will be my obvious choice. I just didn't want to rule out all the other choices. Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks!

Depends on what you need the VPN for. What are the purposes for needing the VPN.

What are they going to use the VPN service for? If they have a static IP address they could just host their own VPN server.

Well recently we have had people trying to DDoS our modem which i can only assume is to attempt to gain secure information like card transaction data and whatever else they could possibly gain. My store has recently been growing in its online community so we are becoming a bigger target for hackers. I definitely dont know a lot about networking, i just assume this is definitely something we need.

I've thought about hosting my own VPN but I dont believe I have high enough upload bandwidth for it from what ive read.

sounds like you could use a firewall more than anything that will help block any type of intrusion over a VPN.

Like just a typical antivirus/firewall program? or some sort of hardware implementation?

Hardware. VPN can and will only go so far to block your IP, but it will be obtainable. Thats about all that a VPN will do. A firewall and block intrusions into your network. There are several popular ones out there like a Sonicwall or Cisco ASA 5505 or similar devices. They will require a fair bit of networking knowledge to configure up properly, but it will be your best line of defense from network intrusions.

What are you speeds? I run my own VPN via my Cisco ASA. My speeds are 80 down and 20 up.

Most of these go behind the modem right? And he says they are targetting his modem, so don't know how much that will work.
I would advice you to contact your ISP. If the attacks are comming from the same place they could just prevent them form reaching you.

he needs to protect his network from intrusion. This is more what he is worried about data theft than anything and rightfully so. DDOS can and will happen regardless.

Then you want to invest in a good Firewall, and depending on the size and scope of your organization you might also want to look into things like Microsoft Advance Thread Analytics (ATA). Tools like ATA can be used to detect people once they are inside your network. In most cases they aren't able to get to the data instantly and first need to navigate trough the network to the right place. Tools like ATA detect these movements and report them so you can take action once they are inside.
