Hey guys, I've posted here before looking for assistance with building my first PC and everyone was so helpful. When I originally posted, however, I didn't have a budget in mind. With this new list, I've sacrificed a ton from my original list. The new list is as follows:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KqpCyX

I'll copy paste the recommended style of posting below, and add some stuff under that.

1. Budget & Location

Around $1500; nothing over $1650 ideally. In US dollars, please.

2. Aim

MAINLY gaming. Like, the significant majority, it will be for gaming. I will also be using this system to mix/record music, but nothing so heavy as to be needing a powerhouse workstation. The types of games that I want to run seamlessly are titles like Overwatch (not hard to run as my current 5yr old PC runs it fine), The Witcher 3, and ARK: Survival Evolved. My current PC can't run The Witcher 3 or ARK at all unless all settings are the lowest and even then can't reach higher than 20-25 FPS, and they still frequently crash.

3. Monitors

I currently have 2 1080p monitors that I can't afford to change at the moment. Eventually though, I want to have at least 1 GSync 1440p monitor for it's buttery smooth gaming performance; but I will always be running at least 2 monitors.

4. Peripherals

I do not need to purchase peripherals.

5. Why are you upgrading?

My PC is a prebuilt PC bought off of NewEgg about 5-6 years ago. It can run some modern games like Overwatch, but struggles with less optimized games like ARK. It is time to upgrade as my PC will not allow me to get a new GPU; I've tried. Plus, some buttons and USB ports no longer work properly so I'm pretty sure the mobo has some issues.

I really need help getting this build down to just about $1500. Above that is okay, just not over $1650, ideally.

I really wanted the highest-of-end stuff like a 1080Ti for it's GSync and superior 1440p performance but, with the rise of mining, I just can't afford that card anymore. What I do want, however, is something that will play in 1440p without issues.

This I consider "non-negotiable" from the above list:

i5-8600K

Define R6

At least 16GB of RAM, minimum of 2666mhz

1TB SSD + 1TB HDD (minimum of each; brand is not set in stone but I know I like Samsung for the SSD)

Nothing less than a non-blower GTX 1070

Side notes:

I DO NOT plan to overclock immediately, nor do I plan to use SLI so I'm unsure of the motherboard. I want a good cheap one, but I also understand too cheap is not a good thing. I want stability and performance at a decent price, ultimately. Along with not overclocking; I'd like to say I won't ever do it, but I feel like I'd appreciate the capability to in case I feel comfortable with doing so in the future. Hence the Noctua cooler which I hear nothing but excellent things about and I find are a good price. I don't care about color or appearance that much, as long as the performance and stability is there.

In advance, I want to thank all of you who read this and offer help to me, a first time PC builder.

Thank you very much, I look forward to reading your feedback.

The problem with that is you'd be cutting into your budget in other places.  Honestly, do you want more graphics, or do you want quicker load times?

I see your point. I will and have been considering that.

Please keep your feedback coming, it is invaluable to me and I greatly appreciate it.

Yeah ... it'll surely decrease the load time...but inside game it won't make any difference..

I appreciate your guys' feedback. One thing I'm seeing though is that the SSD isn't 1TB like I'd prefer. I'd really like the SSD to be 1TB to store games for the massive load time decrease. That's what the SSDs are good for, right?

you won't really notice the difference with games, cutting it down to just 240gb would free up the budget.

Not that realistic.

Total cost of OP build: 1,841

Minimum required for "non-negotiable": 1,353

Amount that can be reduced: 488

Amount that must be removed to meet budget goals: 191 - 341

Leaving: 147 - 297 for cpu cooler, motherboard, psu, and o/s.

But it is possible to come close with some modification of the non-negotiable list.

Change the cpu to a locked i7-8700 using stock cooler. No overclocking but better performance.

Shave a bit off memory and storage. Save a bit more on the case. Still a Define series, just the mATX version.

Save a bit on a better psu.

Since Windows 10 OEM license does not permit use in OEM build, spend a bit more getting the correct, retail version license.
