soundbar Basic TV Audio

This may seem like a dumb question, but I am looking into soundbars for a new TV, and I was wondering if all soundbars work with all TVs or if since I have an LG TV I need an LG soundbar, with proper cables and connectors. Recommendations are appreciated, but I mainly want to know tips about compatibility. Thanks!

It Depends. If The Soundbar Has An RCA Input, Or If It Has A Proprietary Connector

You'd Have To Link Which Soundbar, And Which tv, In Most cases, You Can Use Whichever Soundbar You Want, With Whichever Tv You Want, As Long As They Both Have Required Inputs

Most sound bars these days either take HDMI or optical S/PDIF. And a lot of TVs these days should have an HDMI port with ARC, which is where you'd plug in the the soundbar if it takes in an HDMI input.

 

Then there are ones like mine that connect to a receiver instead.
