Windows 10 ISO Free

That's only free if you own a valid Windows 10 key, which is not free. If you're on an absolute budget, your best option is running a Linux based OS.

2GB Memory

Not enough memory to run the Windows 10 OS that you put in your build. Again, you're better off running a lightweight Linux OS on it.

I did it intentionally. If you are on a tight budget, why not drop out the case? That is the point of "cheapest pcs"

Probably for the best, because your only option for a case will be a used DELL case. It's a BTX form factor motherboard, so it won't be compatible in any of the standard ATX cases.

well then it doesn't say

Quick glance at the amazon pages you linked, and I can't see any information denoting them as USED. However, there are obvious things that give it away if you know what you're looking at. The fact that it's a DELL motherboard should be a dead give away. Dell only make the motherboards to go directly in to their pre-built systems - they aren't sold direct to consumers. The 250GB HDD also has a production date of 2011. The E8400 CPU was released in 2008. These aren't going to be new parts.

Well then I have no idea why my windows 10 ISO works on 2 computers. For some reason my parents didn't want to buy me a genuine windows 10 so  I got ISO

BTX? Finally someone told what form factor it is. But can I buy a new BTX case online? Or as you said " a used DELL case" means ebay?

Finding a new BTX compatible case will be difficult. Your only option would be used offerings. If you can find an old lay down type Dell circa mid to late 2000s. If you do find one and want to buy it, I wouldn't pay any more than the cost of the steel in it, which will probably be about 50c worth.

I would not recommend even considering building this project if you plan to use it.

Transporting and disposing/recycling 100s of old computers costs money, so sometimes schools and offices sell their old computers off in large lots very cheaply or even give them away for free to anyone willing to come pick them up. This is probably where the majority of the items you were looking at purchasing came from. Often people or computer scrap shops buy them and refurbish the working ones and salvage parts from those that aren't working and sell them off individually.

The refurbished systems can be had for a pretty cheap price, and will sometimes come with a valid copy of windows (XP) pre-installed. It would likely be a lot cheaper to buy a complete system like this than it would be to buy the parts individually and assemble yourself. Call your local computer repair shops or computer recycling shops and ask if they have any cheap refurbished pre-built systems. You may have to call a few places to find one that has the sort of cheap system you are looking for, as not all places do this. Also, depending on how much stock the store has, they will probably be willing to haggle down a bit as well just to clear the stock quickly cause most won't want to be storing 100s of old computers that are becoming more obsolete every day. I would be surprised if you were unable to get a working system similar to what you have outlined above for US$80.

Just keep that someone would have been sitting in an office complaining about how slow these computers were back in 2009.

Appears btx=slow. I wonder, maybe why don't they just throw em in the trash rather than waiting for someone to pickup?

BTX is just the layout of the motherboard (it's essentially a mirror flip of an ATX board). The reason it's 'slow' is because it's 10+ years old and was probably a very budget offering at the time.

Could you fit 100 computers in your trash can? Garbage collection isn't free. Large companies still need to pay a private garbage contractor to come and collect the waste each week. Even your kerbside collection at home is paid for from local taxes, levies, and fees.

Even if collection wasn't an issue, computer components aren't meant to be put in with general waste landfill. They can contain some materials that are hazardous to the environment so they should be disposed of properly so they can be recycled or safely disposed of. Also, computer parts often contain valuable metals such as gold, copper, aluminium, and steel. All of which can be extracted and recycled.

"Remember, most computer equipment contains hazardous materials that don’t belong in a landfill. For example, many computers have heavy metals that can contaminate the earth."
