Internet problem

Yu

Hello I have some sort of internet problem. My internet is really slow, but the speed test is normal. The internet seem to be pretty normal to everyone else in my house however I really lag whenever I'm talking in discord or playing any game. I've tried restarting my pc and router like a dozen times now, nothing seem to help. Could anyone help me?

It could be that your wireless adapter is weak.

Define "slow", how are you measuring it?

What speed should you be getting?

You said wireless which is notorious for being flaky for low latency application needs.

Im lagging in every game im playing, even laging when using discord, yet the speed test show 20 mbps, which isnt a lot, but there were no problems with this speed in the past

Thats the thing with WiFi. It can work for a while then just go to shit. Could be a neighbor on the same wireless channel. Or any other environmental factor that affect WiFi. God help you if your using an USB adapter, those a notorious for being shit.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

If it were me Id do this:

1) Reinstall the drivers

2) Check the airwaves, WiFI analyzer on Android is a great way to do this

3) Reposition the router, some where centralized and high up is best to get the signal to spread.

If none of that works, it could be the WiFI adapter is just a shitty one. I heavily suggest a PCI express adapter if your using a USB one. As they seem to do better. If all else fails look in to Power Line or Moca adapters.
