JRiver and Dragonfly Red

I have a posted a few questions recently for help with some audio equipment, I have settled on the audioquest dragonfly red to go with my, B&O H6 gen 1 headphones which I have had for nearly a couple of years now (and love!). Love the little dac, while of course it does not make as big a difference as upgrading headphones or speakers I do find it makes listening that little bit more engaging, particularly when just sitting and having a good old listening session.

I want to get the most out of this little baby, it came with a a free 60 trial period of Roon, which is pretty but actually I do not think I like and certainly not at that price. Foobar is ok but seems a little archaic to use. JRiver that I have just downloaded seems like a nice option. Any users here have tips that I should use with the settings to get the most out of the DAC, I will mostly be listening to ripped CDs in FLAC format and maybe some higher res ones that I download.

I know Tidal would be a great way to get the most out of the dac and I keep trying to love it but I think the UI and discovery are just so poor compared to Spotify.
