About Wifi/network. Help.

Foul

Hey so I just built a new PC and for some reason it’s no longer working.

So so I need a new Network Card / USB thingy.

To get some backstory

i had a Network Card. It worked perfectly fine on my Old MSI 970 gaming board

i upgraded to a new Ryzen board, and the card is no longer being read by the board.

So I need something new I guess.

I can not use a Ethernet cable, because my modem is in my living room.

Would I be able to use this (see photo). Or would I need a USB one.

Or or if you know something better

please link it (IN CANADA $$ Amazon.ca etc.) I do not really want to spend anything over 30$. Because I’m broke as fuck. And I don’t need crazy speeds on my wifi is 150 down 20 up AT ITS BEST.

Are you willing to just get a USB adapter like this one?

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

The USB one listed above isn't terrible but seems to be iffy sometimes.

I would recommend:

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/tTdqqs/gigabyte-wireless-network-card-gcwb867di

or

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/X9rcCJ/asus-pce-ac55bt-none-wi-fi-adapter-pce-ac55bt

They are about $45 CAD but should provide very solid reliability and speed.

Current Network Layout:

Super stupid question incoming: Are you sure you plugged them in hard enough?

Also if you decide to go with a USB adapter, try to get one that has big antennae. Helps a lot.
