Downloading Digital Content????

So I've slowly been working my media collection of DVD's and Blu-Rays into Plex. I came to Stargate Universe however and realized I don't have season 2 on bluray. So I scoured the internet looking for a copy. Come to find out they don't exist, I got my hopes up when I found I UK version on Amazon only to find out it was cancelled as well. So my question is how can I get my hands on a 1080p copy? Can I buy it on DIGITALLY on Amazon, Play Store, or iTunes and put it into my Plex library or is my only option to buy the DVD set and try upscaling or something of the like?

I have the first season on bluray and it would kill me to ruin the first half. If it was only ALL on DVD it wouldn't be as painful.

Amazon want DRM or it just deliver potato quality. To break this DRM you need illegal hardware which will not be debated on this forum.

Buying a DVD and make your own digital version is closer to legal.

Yeah bud that was what I thought but I wasn't quite sure. If I buy a DVD season can I upscale using Handbrake and get close to Blu-Ray quality?

Remember that technically ripping a DVD is illegal.

On an unrelated note, if you have a DRM free video file you can upscale it to your heart's content. It won't be as good as a blu-ray but it will be better than a dvd (most tvs do upscaling natively nowadays though).

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Depends on region. In US sure. In here nope. While our copyright laws aren't perfect, they do state that you are allowed to make copies for personal use. Any distribution and re-sales are against.

Yes, but the CoC is relative to Canadian laws and as far as I know breaking DRM is illegal there.

Im kinda pissed it got canceled without a real ending. If you cant find a blue ray online then maybe they didn't do a 1080p release. Actually according to the Wikipedia article, they in fact did not do a Bluray release at all in any region. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_Universe#Home_video_release

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I found it in 1080p on iTunes and ehhem... cough cough. Somehow got it into Plex:P

Same tho, I really wish that series would've lasted longer. I know it was different than all the other Stargates before it but I still really liked the series.
