Hello, guys, I just pulled off the greatest deal off all time, an Asus P6T X58 Motherboard for 18 Euros shipped.

Now I am wondering, what Cpu to get.

I own a Gtx 680. and I will use my Computer mostly for Gaming.

Which Cpu will not bottleneck my GPU?

I currently own an x5460, which gets way to hot witch my Coolermaster Seidon 120m.

Wich Cpu can this cooler handle?

Overclocking?

I also would like to play some Pubg.

I hope you can help me

Greetings from Germany

Any CPU on the X58 platform shouldn't bottleneck your 680, they were released about the same time IIRC.

That cooler should do a decent job of cooling pretty much any CPU. I personally would likely get an i7-920 or 950.

thanks, I thought of some xeons because of ecc support, Does this board support ecc?

I would imagine so, Intel wouldn't release a chipset that supports Xeons but not ECC memory. Although ECC memory is more expensive than normal DRAM, I wouldn't recommend getting it unless you really need ECC.

The board does not support buffered and ECC, BUT, from what I read, you can disable the ECC feature on it.

Your ECC memory will run like ordinary non-ECC memory.

I am not too familiar with this topic, but buffered/unbuffered and ECC/non-ECC are two different things.

You CAN get unbuffered ECC memory...and such...but it is usually buffered ECC.

Anyone able to confirm 100%?

Unbuffered/unregistered ECC will run in conjunction with a Xeon in your board. However, ECC will be more expensive and is not beneficial in 99% of compute tasks. I am running a 32Nm Westmere X5680 @4Ghz and it runs very cool at low voltage, and it doesn't bottleneck my GTX 1080. You will not need to worry about heat. Do not run an i7, they will cost more, run hotter, and have 2c/4t less.
