I have an xps 9560 and a caldigit ts3 plus. The laptop gets charged from the ts3 plus but its 85watts.

What would happen if I connect the Dell charger 103 watts while the Ts3 plus is still connected. Will it damage the laptop

The MacBook pro only takes charge from one even if ts3 plus and the MacBook pro charger are connected.

I also read that the Gtx 10 series card do not work in 100watt. Since the xps has a 1050 how will it work when the ts3 plus is only connected. Will it draw the additional power from the battery.

The short answer is no.

The long answer is it depends on if every Thunderbolt port can charge the laptop or not. But if both the Dell charger and the TS3 are providing power, then one of the following will happen:

  • The laptop draws only from one or the other.
  • The laptop draws from both at the same time.

The laptop will not draw more power than it needs.

It'll likely cause the laptop to operate in a low power mode.
