Hard disk

i have 2 - WD 3 TB internal hard disks, i was wondering if there's like any economical way to use them as portable external hard disks.

Suggestions are much appreciated.

buy a external hard drive enclosure it protects it better than a sata to usb and it is cheap at about 10 to 25 dollars

I have two of those hard drive enclosures, one doesnt do anything ( it was broken when delivered and i didnt use the product for like a month) and the second one uses a separate power supply.

3.5" enclosures need the external power supply because USB alone doesn't provide enough power. And you can't assume everyone has a USB port with higher power outputs. So that's pretty much the only way you can go if you want to make it portable.

You can't power a 3.5" drive just from USB.
