freenas bittorrent tracker jail

I have transmission setup in a jail via the plugin on freenas

I have setup seeding of some community projects to help out

I want to add a tracker for anyone that seeds from me so I can get some interesting data to play with

I cant decide between using these 2 tracker servers, if anyone could give me some advice on whats better that would be appreciated

http://erdgeist.org/arts/software/opentracker/

also the guides seem to assume some knowledge that I don't have, do I just click add tracker on my torrent client and then put in the public ip address of the jail running the tracker with the port?

Not having a lot of experience with this, but I thought the tracker(s) were listed in the .torrent files - so you would need to hand out the .torrents as well? I'm frequently looking over the listed trackers in what I download, and I never see anything outside of what should be there.

I don't know what data you're looking for, but often you can pull logs from your firewall, sort it by port and get at least associate IP addresses to torrent traffic. I love seeing how many people across the world download... uh... ubuntu from me :-).
