Please help! My SSD gone bad?

KieuVanQuan

So I've got a roughly 4-year old "Kingston HyperX Fury 240gb" SSD that I've been using in my laptop. I decided to run a benchmark and noticed that the speeds were awful. Does this mean my SSD is starting to die or what?

Laptop specs: (model name: hp pavilion g6 1110sh)

- all drivers installed & up to date

- Sata 3 connection

- high performance power option (100% min cpu, max cpu) in control panel

- ram 4gb

Doesn't look bad to me, do you have earlier benchmarks of that drive to compare?

Unfortunately not but I guess write speed used to be much higher...read speed is ok-ish but what about the 4KiB read? Damn

Also I forgot to mention have you done trim on the ssd, and leave extra space for the ssd for overprovisioning (garbage collection). Atleast 10-15% space shall do it.

Assuming the drive stats on the right are of the SSD, the fact that it's 93% full would probably explain it.

your ssd is also really full as you fill up an ssd they will slow down quite a bit.

main system build --> i7-7700K (at 5.0 ghz), MSI Z270 SLI Motherboard, corsair vengeance lpx 8gb ddr4 2666mhz,  costume liquid cooling loop with 360 mm radiator on CPU, GTX 1080 gigabyte windforce OC, 1TB WD drive, 128 gb samsung nvme m.2, EVGA 850 watt semi modular power supply, CM storm stryker case (ya not ideal for costume loop), VIOTEK GN34C 34 inch curved monitor <----

Spoiler

Oh, I did not know that. Since I no longer need my laptop I'll put it in my PC and run benchmark again with 90% free space lol

@WindowsXP16 trim is enabled I've just checkd it
