Well as the title says I am looking to build a PC so that i can play BF4 with mixed settings at 120fps on a single monitor. My budget is $1100/$1200(CAD) or as cheap as it can be. Since I don't know much about PC components (other than the basics), I was wondering what some good components would be for my build. Right know I'm looking at i5 3570k with 7950

(A PSU that can support crossfire/sli would be preferable)

First off, you won't be able to afford the necessary hardware with such a low budget, you'll need ~$2000 to either get 3 low end gpu or 2 high end/1 dual core gpu to get anywhere near 100fps if you maxed out settings (you might be able to get away with 2 lower end gpu if you put on low setting but really that defeats the purpose of 120fps)

Also once you get near 100fps, the difference becomes so small that it is nearly indistinguishable so really in terms of enjoyment, 90 fps at max settings will do a lot better than 120fps at low settings.

However you will still need ~$1500+ to get decent lower end gpu to get that performance and keep in mind that anything over 60fps will require a 120hz monitor or it will be completely pointless

One last thing, bf3 and probably will bf4, benefit more from multicore as AMD has taken a investment to adapt the game engine of bf3 to perform better on the AMD platform so it means that the 8350 will not only outperform the 3570k but at a lower price point as well

But with your current budget, you can build a decent machine capable of smooth 60fps at max settings which is enough for most gamers

For reference, I use slightly OC'd 7950 and 2500k and average about 50-60 fps on bf3 absolutely maxed out at 1080p. I wouldn't say you need to spend $2000 on a build to achieve a more realistinc goal of 60fps (this is definitely a satisfactory frame rate). If you have bought a 120Hz like your post implies, then you should have taken into account the inherent cost that comes with it to actually utilize it. An average of 120fps or higher on a AAA title takes a lot of GPU horsepower. If you really want those kind of frame rates, you WILL need to spend a lot more, maybe 2 7950's or 670's. A 3770k or 8350 may be a better idea for the CPU too as well, seeing as you'll need one to get as many frames as you can out of BF4.

I agree with the 8350 choice. Cheaper and will probably run better than 3570k. This is what I would build at the pricepoint but it probably won't be able to get 120 fps.

Note: did not include fans in the list. Would grab Noctua or Silverstone AP series fans for that heatsink. I also assumed you don't need an OS so factor that in as well if you do not already have an OS.

If you want to go about $100 over your budget, you can get crossfire 7950s. Otherwise, you can spend the rest of your budget on an A99 motherboard, an SSD, a modular PSU, an Asus Xonar sound card, or a slightly better case such as the Fractal Design Define R4.

For Bf4 at as high fps as possible I'd recommend a tower like this: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/OxTm

it's like $10 over budget but it'll be worth every penny

export PS1='\[\033[1;30m\]┌╼ \[\033[1;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[1;30m\] ╾╼ \[\033[0;34m\]\w\[\033[0;36m\]\n\[\033[1;30m\]└╼ \[\033[1;37m\]'

is the cpu cooler good enough to oc the cpu?and also what is good gaming keyboard (under $50)?
The cooler's fairly beastly for its price I'd expect it to reach higher than 4.5GHz ;) Also there isn't a good keyboard for $50 unless you have the money to get a mechanical then don't spend more than $20 on a membrane. Just a pro tip
