If you are easily offended by bad grammar then this post will probably give you an aneurysm :-P

Ok, So I will probably get called a noob for this but I am hoping someone can dumb this down to a "Homer Simpson" level for me...

Let's say for example you get 4x NVidia Titan XP's and run them in a 4 way SLI will on a triple monitor setup. Will that not increase gaming performance or will it only increase it on certain games?

Again sorry if its a stupid question I am just curious, maybe someone can edumacate me on the subject :-P

In short: for Pascal-based cards and onward, Nvidia only supports 2-way SLI for games. About 80% of modern games will see at least some benefit with SLI over a single card but some either can't use it at all or actually are negatively affected.

If you just want 3 desktops SLI doesn't matter, you can run 1 monitor off each card without SLI being involved at all.

It will only increase performance in certain games. 3-way and 4-way SLI works best with manual fixes, but because Nvidia no longer supports more than 2-way SLI, you'll encounter more issues than smooth experiences.

If you're going to SLI, I wouldn't recommend anything more than 2-way SLI. 2-way SLI support is still pretty good nowadays, and will easily give you better performance than a Titan V in most games.

I’d say it depends on the game. I’d never do 4 way with recent cards though.

But as for triple screen, I’d take two 1080’s over a 1080ti. But that’s only in games that nativity support surround and one of which is recent. But that being said, 2 is better than.
