Should i take it?

Hey guys!I'm right now in my Aunt's house and using my uncles HP Pavilion dm4. So, He has an old setup. Which has a celeron/Pentium(not sure, i'l ask him),4GB ram,A gpu from nvidia,Stock cooler,Windows xp,A crt monitor, a mouse and a keyboard.It's pretty cool And it has 400gb of space. He is willing to give me that PC+his old laptop+A desk for the pc+ a gpu for my current old setup. All for free. . Yep,everything for free. Should i take? it? He also said that the screen of the laptop is not so..good,so, you have to connect it to an external monitor to use it. He is also ready to give me a small modem/router,A d-link 2750u,a hub,switch and a stock modem/router with WiFi,Another gpu,And some/many more products Should i take it all? Yes i will take them,but Just want to know if there i any good use for all these products.

 

And you should know that, I LIKE TO COLLECT OLD PRODUCTS!!

i have many old things in my house. And, This will be my 4th old pc.

if it's a pentium 4 there is a chance it uses an AGP graphics card, good luck upgrading that.

AGP was the expansion slot before PCI, which was the expansion slot before PCI-e. So you are going to need a pretty old GPU for it. I think the last card I heart of to have an AGP version was the Nvidia 8xxx series.

Who knows? It may have many viruses in it! I have to remove them first. Then connect it to the internet. And then do whatever i want.

Why would you need to update the GPU for using it as a server......? Sounds like it is better than your sig rig so sure, take it

no, not any 8XXX series, the slots look different on AGP cards, back when they still had to cater for AGP they had to make two versions of the cards. one being AGP the other PCI-E

keep the one he gave, aside from the AGP cards being extinct, people sell them for crazy prices.

Then you'll have trouble finding a mobo that works with the CPU, in the end you'll buy a whole new pc since Pentium 4 sockets are dead.

There are still many people in the world who use Pentiums. Even my school have more than 10 of them.Now they have Amd Athlons and core 2 duo and i5 and pentiums
