You wouldn't be getting artefacts if the RAM stick were not installed correctly.  All that would do is stop Dual Channel from working

 With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

Artifacting sounds like a fried/overheated gpu to me (just as other users here have suggested) 

My PC (Known as Theseus IV):

—CPU: R9 5950X (B2 Stepping)

—Ram: 32GB Vengeance Pro SL RGB

—Graphics: AMD RX 6900XT 

—Motherboard: Asus ROG C8DH 

—Storage: 990 Pro 2TB

—CPU Cooling: NZXT Z73 RGB 360

—Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow

—PSU: Corsair AX850
