My Laptop, Please Help

I have a shitty school laptop and i would like to know what upgrades i can make, this is the spec, btw this is just a school laptop.

Dell Latitude E5470 Intel Core i5-6300U 2.40 GHz 8GB

Upgrade for low end gaming

Put a ssd in. Can't change cpu or gpu, and ram is probably fine.

Looks like the only few things you can do are replace the hard drive with an SSD, and change the 2x 4gb ram sticks to 2x 8gb for 16 gb's of ram....

 

But if you're using this just for school, then there should be no reason to have that much ram. I'd also suggest cleaning up your computer by removing things you don't need, defragmenting your hard drive, running antivirus scans, using ccleaner to get rid of excessive junk files. There's plenty more you could do if speed is what you're looking for. You might just need to perform more maintenance related tasks to help make your computer faster.

There's very little you can upgrade in that laptop and to be absolutely honest the things you can upgrade won't make a huge diffrence for gaming, if any at all.

the ram/cpu are about as good as they'll get , more ram isn't going to help low end games when you already have 8gb.

the gpu isn't replaceable , ssd might help loading times but not much else. there's not much reason to change it from it's current config.

well you could make it not portable buy removing the wifi card then a pic thing in there that can have a cpu and get like a gtx 750ti and have a decent gaming pc

Beyond just lowering your settings and accepting it for what it is, you aren't going to be able to make it better.

 

Before I bought my msi GV62 7RC, I used to run games at 720p on my Elitebook 8760W, would still be doing that if not for the fact it was so damn heavy to carry around.
