So i was changing the CPU on my PC. I had an i3 7100 and decided to get an i5 6600K. So I was putting this in, and I had some struggle with the Intel stock cooler. But when I finally got it on, it booted but I got no signal to my monitor. I switched it off and on again and it did the same, but now it won't power on at all. I've chedked all connections and it should all be fine. I've swapped out PSU and it still wont even get any power at all. Is my motherboard dead? :(

Can I have the specs of your PC and your power supply wattage?

Have you tried switching back to the 7100 to see what happens? Dead CPUs are unusual, but not impossible.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I sold it :( I did think this, but then, surely the fans would still spin up or something even with the dead cpu in. It's almost as if the powere button is diconnected ( which it's not)
