Strange Headset issue

So I just recently bought the Sennheiser Game Zero headset, and it sounds pretty awful. The highs are good, the lows are really flat and bad. And if I am listening to a song with a lot of high's mixed with a lot of lows, the lows will be really quiet and the highs will be crazy loud. I have this headset plugged straight into my motherboard. Also, I have plugged this headset into my phone and it sounds way better. It is a lot louder too. And my friends in Discord have all said that my mic sounds really quiet. And I turned the mic all the way up on discord and windows. So now they can hear me fine. But if I use the headset on my phone, not only does it sound better but my mic is a lot louder. I am pretty sure this probably has something to do with my on board sound card, but I don't know a lot in this area. Anyone know what could be wrong, and what I can do to fix it?
