I currently have a pretty decent build but I wouldn't mind making some upgrades. I have a i7 4790k and a gtx 960 to upgrade them to what I'm looking at. Either a GTax 1080 or upgrading the Mobo and Ram for the i7 8700k are essentially the same cost. Which you guys think would be a bigger upgrade? I currently lean towards the CPU/Mobo/RAM just seems like a little bit more upgrade for the money. But curious what you guys think. I mainly just play Overwatch and WoW but I'm also a graphic artist so it is some what of a workstation.

Normally, I would say graphics card, hands down..... However in todays market..... If you can find a good deal on a 1080, jump on it. Jump on that sucker for dear life. Unfortunately, your other option is upgrading your entire platform.

Another way to look at it: with a better GPU, your CPU won't bottleneck it. On the otherhand, if you upgrade your CPU (and motherboard, and RAM) that 960 will become your bottleneck.

Neither at the moment. You have a capable 1080p rig.

Ram and gpu prices are insane.

If you can find a 1080 for msrp or lower go for it.

If you upgrade your cpu and motherboard, you will need to buy ram at double its value.

You have a decent rig why not wait until prices normalize? I doubt they will come back down much if any, but they will become more stable.
