Ryzen 1600 overclocking

Just got a 1600 a week ago been playing around with overclocking since it’s my first time not having a locked processor. I got it stable at 1.35v 3.9ghz with 81c max after a few hours in aida64 using the stock cooler.

Should I try to push it even further? I don’t want to destroy the chip, but I also don’t want to completely baby it.

What would be the max voltage to try while allowing the chip to last atleast 5 years before I end up upgrading it

Dont push more, the CPU is getting on the line between 'acceptable' and 'too high for long term use'. Try reduce the voltage if you can.

Please no. Get yourself a proper cooler and pull that load temp down.

Alright, I most likely can, just need to sit down and spend some time with it when I get home. I do want it to atleast stay at 3.9

That's just aida64 temp after a long period of time which is highly unrealistic. I haven't seen it reach anywhere near there in normal use. I do live in a colder climate too.. basically bordering Canada. If I do see it reach 80s in the summer then I'll invest in a good cooler, if I buy one I don't wanna get a crappy one.

considering thats a pretty heavy workload you will be fine, and thats also not a bad voltage to be at, if you get a better cooler you can probably push a bit more
