Hi all,

So ive been looking around at game servers and shit like that, but I don't want it to support just one game, id like to be able to host whatever game I need it for at the specific time if you get me? Like for example have a Colony Survival server running but then when me and my friends want to play OpenTTD I can just login and turn off the Colony Survival server and run the OTTD one.

I used to port forward but due to change in ISP they are only giving me a ipv6 and wont give me access to v4 unless I upgrade and I want to see what will be more cost effective!

I’m assuming you are running windows. Did you try using command prompt to find the ipv4, or did you look for it through another method?

Running Win10 atm. I have and it gives me an IPv4, but no one can connect to me even though P-F on stuff that used to work perfectly like my OTTD server

Are you giving your friends the correct IP address? If you go on google and look up ‘what’s my ip’ or go to http://www.whatsmyip.org/ you should find the one you give to your friends. Unless you are giving them the correct ip, then is it the port forwarding your isp wants you to upgrade to?

I have tried all as they all give me a different IP. I rang them and said I need an ipv4 (as looking on my router i didnt have it only v6) and they said id have to upgrade my account from prepay (40€/m) to their bill plan (70€/m) thats why I was wondering is getting a server going to work out better in the long run

the big question is how fast is the 70€ plan gonna be?

does it have 100mbit/s of upload?

if yes you got a chance to host a server locally, if not you better forget about it and rent a server.

at the moment im getting 27mb upload
