Sennheiser headphones question

I want a pair of noise isolating headphones. Currently I use the HD598s which are open backed and was wondering how similar the HD569s are performance wise and how good the noise cancelling is because i am looking at maybe getting a pair

I just noticed this post went by the wayside! That won’t do.

Is your heart set on staying with closed-back Sennheisers? I’d understand that if that’s so. You and I both know these cans have THAT unique feel. Based on your post-count, I’m assuming you’ve been around LMG.

I gave up on noise-cancelling ‘phones after messing around with the PSB M4U-2 closed-back... and there’s an inexpensive Sony noise cancelling on-ear pair sitting in a drawer around here too. I couldn’t tolerate the weird sound-processing effect.

To keep my spouse happy at night with my nocturnal listening, I went the Sony MDR7510 route.  It relies on insulation & a tight seal to block out sound.  I can igore the whine of annoying cats with them during the day, so that’s good for me.

Anyway, @Swegly , let me know how this works out for you, eh.
